Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026. Last updated: October 7, 2026.
In short: no account is needed. We do not store your document text. It is sent to an AI provider to produce explanations, and that provider keeps it for a limited time. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. Remove personal details from documents before you submit them.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
ParqueMedia LLC ("ParqueMedia," "we," "us," or "our") is a New Jersey limited liability company that operates the Contract Explainer at contracts.parquemedia.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Service, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. It applies only to the Service, not to other ParqueMedia websites, which have their own policies.
The Service is intended for adults located in the United States. See the Notice for Users Outside the United States.
2. The short version
- You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name or email address.
- We do not store the text of your documents in our own databases.
- Your document text is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate explanations, and that provider keeps it for a limited period for its own safety and compliance purposes.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Information that is collected
3.1 Information you provide
Document text. When you select "Explain my document," the text in the document box is divided into sections in your browser, and each section is sent to our server function and then to our AI provider so an explanation can be generated. Document text can contain personal information about you or other people if you do not remove it. We ask that you remove names, addresses, account numbers, Social Security numbers, and similar details before submitting.
Uploaded files. If you choose a PDF or text file, the file is opened and read inside your own browser. The file itself is not uploaded to us. Only the text extracted from it is placed in the document box, and that text is sent for processing only when you select "Explain my document."
Your selections. The document type and the state you choose are sent with each section so the explanation can take them into account.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
3.2 Information collected automatically
Technical and log data. Like most websites, the Service's hosting provider automatically receives and logs technical information when your browser connects, such as your internet protocol (IP) address, the date and time of the request, the page or address requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type.
Rate limiting. To prevent abuse, the hosting provider counts requests by IP address over short time windows and blocks requests above the limit.
Aggregate usage counts. We keep a running count of how many sections the Service has reviewed each day across all visitors. This count is a single number per day. It contains no document text and nothing that identifies you.
Analytics. We use our hosting provider's server-side analytics, which produce aggregate statistics such as page views, approximate locations by country, and top pages from server logs. This feature does not place cookies or tracking scripts in your browser.
3.3 Information we do not collect
We do not require or create user accounts. We do not knowingly collect payment information, precise geolocation, biometric information, or contact lists. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not buy personal information about you from data brokers.
4. How information is used
- To operate the Service and generate the explanations you request.
- To keep the Service secure, enforce usage limits, and detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse.
- To understand overall usage in aggregate so we can maintain and improve the Service.
- To respond to you if you contact us.
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use the text of your documents to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not use it for marketing.
5. Who information is shared with
We share information only as described here.
Hosting provider (Netlify, Inc.). The Service's pages, server function, rate limiting, usage counter, and analytics run on Netlify's platform in the United States. Netlify processes technical and log data and transmits your sections to our AI provider on our behalf. See Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
AI provider (Anthropic, PBC). Each section of your document, together with your selected document type and state, is sent to Anthropic's application programming interface to generate an explanation. According to Anthropic's published policies for its commercial API services at the time this policy was last updated, Anthropic does not use this content to train its models by default, and it automatically deletes inputs and outputs from its systems within a limited period, described by Anthropic as up to 30 days, except where it must keep them longer to enforce its usage policies or comply with law. Anthropic's practices are governed by its own terms and may change. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy and Anthropic's Privacy Center.
Content delivery network (cdnjs, operated with Cloudflare, Inc.). The software library that reads PDF files in your browser is loaded from this network. When your browser requests it, the network receives your IP address and standard technical information. It does not receive your document.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of ParqueMedia, our users, or others; or to investigate or prevent fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms.
Business transfers. If ParqueMedia is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or one that is at least as protective.
No sale. No sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
6. How long information is kept
- Document text: not stored by ParqueMedia. It passes through our server function in memory to reach the AI provider and is not written to our own storage. The AI provider retains it for the limited period described in Section 5.
- Hosting logs and analytics: kept by the hosting provider for the periods set by its own retention practices.
- Daily usage counts: kept as long as useful for understanding usage. They contain no personal information.
- Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to respond and for our records.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), keeping credentials on the server and out of browser code, validating input on the server, and limiting request volume. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can reduce risk by removing personal details from documents before submitting them.
8. Your choices
- You can use the Service without providing your name or contact details.
- You can remove personal information from a document before submitting it. We strongly encourage this.
- You can choose not to submit a document at all.
- You can contact us to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it.
9. Privacy rights under state laws
Several states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and New Jersey, have enacted comprehensive privacy laws that give residents rights over their personal information. Those laws generally apply to businesses that meet certain size or data-volume thresholds, which ParqueMedia may not meet. Regardless of whether a particular law applies to us, we will consider and respond to reasonable requests from any United States resident to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- obtain a copy of it;
- correct it if it is inaccurate;
- delete it; and
- opt out of the sale of personal information, the sharing of it for targeted advertising, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do none of these.
Because the Service has no accounts and we do not store your document text, we will often hold little or nothing that can be linked to you. To make a request, email JDonline94@outlook.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from you. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. If we decline a request, you may reply to ask us to reconsider, and you may contact your state attorney general.
California "Shine the Light." We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Nevada. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law.
10. Browser privacy signals
The Service does not track you across other websites and does not sell or share personal information for advertising. For that reason, it treats all visitors the same whether or not their browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal or a Global Privacy Control signal.
11. Children
The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, email us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Where information is processed
The Service is operated from the United States, and information is processed in the United States by us and our service providers. If you access the Service from outside the United States despite our notice, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
13. Other people's information
Documents often name other people. Do not submit information about another person unless you have the right to do so, and remove their identifying details where you can.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be described at the top of this page.
