Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026. Last updated: October 7, 2026.
In short: this tool sets no cookies of its own, shows no ads, and does not track you across other websites.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits. They are often used to remember preferences, keep people signed in, measure traffic, or deliver advertising.
2. Cookies we set
The Contract Explainer (the "Service") does not set any cookies of its own. It has no accounts, so it has no sign-in cookies. It does not use browser local storage or session storage to keep your documents, your selections, or your results. When you close or reload the page, your document text and results are gone from the page.
3. Advertising and tracking
The Service contains no advertising, no advertising cookies, no social media tracking pixels, and no cross-site tracking technology.
4. Analytics
We measure traffic with our hosting provider's server-side analytics. These statistics are produced from server logs. They do not rely on cookies or on a tracking script running in your browser.
5. Third-party technologies
The Service loads a software library for reading PDF files from a public content delivery network. When your browser requests that library, the network receives your IP address and standard technical information, and it may use strictly necessary technologies for security and to deliver the file. The Service's hosting provider may likewise use strictly necessary technologies to deliver pages securely and to protect against abuse. We do not control these providers' technologies; see their policies for details.
6. Why there is no cookie banner
Cookie consent banners are generally used where a site stores or reads non-essential cookies or similar identifiers on a visitor's device. Because the Service does not set non-essential cookies, it does not display one. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide the appropriate notices and choices before any such technology is used.
7. Your browser controls
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not affect how the Service works.
