Notice for Users Outside the United States

In short: this tool is built for people in the United States and United States documents only. If you are in another country, please do not use it. Its explanations are not written for your country's laws.
1. The Service is for people in the United States
The Contract Explainer (the "Service") is operated by ParqueMedia LLC from the State of New Jersey, United States. It is designed for, directed to, and intended for use only by adults who are located in the United States. Its explanations are written with documents governed by United States law in mind, and its "state" option lists only United States jurisdictions.
We do not market or offer the Service to people in any other country, we do not price or provide it in other currencies or languages for other markets, and we do not monitor the behavior of people in other countries.
2. Please do not use the Service from outside the United States
If you are located outside the United States, you are asked not to use the Service. We may block or restrict access from outside the United States at any time and without notice.
3. If you access the Service anyway
If you choose to access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and at your own risk, and you are responsible for complying with the laws of the place where you are located. You acknowledge that:
- We make no representation that the Service or its content is appropriate, lawful, or available for use in any location outside the United States.
- Explanations do not take into account the law of any country other than the United States and may be seriously misleading when applied to a document governed by another country's law.
- Any information you submit will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from, and may be less protective than, the laws of your country.
4. Mandatory rights under your local law
Nothing in this notice or in our Terms of Use is intended to remove any right that the law of your country of residence gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement. If such a law applies to you despite the limits described above, the Terms apply to the extent that law permits.
5. Data protection requests from any country
Although we do not offer the Service outside the United States, we will consider and respond in good faith to a request from any person, wherever located, who asks what personal information we hold about them or asks us to delete it. The Service has no user accounts, and we do not store submitted document text in our own databases, so in most cases we will hold little or nothing that can be linked to a particular person. We have not appointed a representative in the European Union or the United Kingdom, because we do not offer the Service there.
6. Restricted countries and persons
The Service may not be used by anyone located in a country or territory subject to comprehensive United States sanctions, or by anyone identified on a United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
